Clean Cannondale RT1000 Priced to sell. 700c, Large/Small Aluminum frame, Ultegra carbon/DeoreXT/FSA Gossamer gruppo, numerous extras. This is not an entry-level tandem. We previously owned an aluminum Santana Sovereign and a custom Co-Motion with S&S with Softride Beam, both bikes with top gruppos. This bike is the equal or better than either of them. It is light and fast, with high-end components and a lightweight frame. Plus, it has better brakes than our first two. (No more fussing with the stoker drum brake lever.) With a practiced partner, you can achieve a faster Century than you can ride on a single bike. We did the STP double century and know this to be true. We have aged-out of tandeming with great reluctance. A couple of years ago, I made two concessions to our longevity. I put on a Stem Riser and reversed the stoker’s cowhorn handlebars to give us both a more upright riding posture. If you are a competitive, bugs-in-the-teeth, cyclist, both can be returned to the more aerodynamic standard configuration. I have been a bicycle mechanic for over fifty years, and I can do it easily. On that same note, I keep excellent care of my bikes. For me it is part of the fun of bikes. This bike is very clean and tuned. I am including with the bike, a Cane Creek Thudbuster suspension seatpost and a Terry saddle that we used instead of the stock fi’zi:k stoker saddle and carbon seatpost. These two items would cost more than $200 or so but are included. Your stoker will thank you. I recently found two similar bikes (same bike with lesser components) on eBay for $2500 and $2200, which is reasonable in the current market. However, we just moved to smaller quarters, and I desperately need space in my garage, so I priced this bike for a quick sale. My asking price is a great bargain (shipping extra).
